It is with great excitement I announce that I’ll be serving as the MC/Host for the 2019 AVPFirst “Serving Up Style” event to be held Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 at the Pasea Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach, CA.
The “Serving Up Style” event serves as a fundraiser for AVPFirst. AVPFirst is a “…501-3c nonprofit organization with a goal of inspiring healthy lifestyles and creating a lifelong connection to the sport of volleyball in youth and their families. Regardless of where they reside or their economic status, AVPFirst gives children the access, opportunity, and resources to beach volleyball through clinics, community events, and training.” Read more…
I had the honor and privilege of MC/Hosting the event in 2016, the inaugural year, in the absence of AVP MC/Host, Mark Schuermann. The event was held at the Lyon Air Museum and featured a runway— not of planes, but of AVP-pros-turned-models! The event concluded with Olympic Gold Medalist and current Cal Poly Beach Volleyball Head Coach, Todd Rogers, being the first to be inducted into the “Hall of Champions.”
This year, Olympic Gold Medalist and USC Head Coach, Dain Blanton, and perennial AVP finalist/champion and UCLA Beach Volleyball Head Coach, Jenny Johnson-Jordan will be inducted into the "Hall of Champions.”
It will be a great honor to present these two personalities— who have contributed significantly to both beach and indoor volleyball with this AVPFirst honor.
